There has been a shooting at Fort Hood military base in Texas today, with CNN reporting that up to nine people could be dead with as many as 20 wounded. The incident took place at about 1:30pm Central Time today.
The wounded have been taken to Darnell Army Hospital.
Major Jamie Posten on CNN was unable to confirm the number of fatalities but was able to confirm one shooter is in custody.
There may be two more shooters but that is still unconfirmed. Unconfirmed reports state that the shooters may have been carrying M-16s. KCEN is reporting that a second suspect may have barricaded themselves in a building.
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson spoke to officials at the army base and said that the shooters were in military uniform, but that does not necessarily mean that the shooters were military themselves.
