What makes South Carolina a great state to cover is the Presidential Hopefuls who make their way through here. Two years ago, the Tax Day Tea Party had mostly local figures like Mark Sanford and Jim DeMint. During an election season Michelle Bachmann the “Tea party candidate” will be speaking on the steps of the Capital on Monday.
Here is another hint that she may be leaning at that direction.
Bachmann will be in South Carolina to attend a Tax Day Tea Party rally, and has set up a meeting with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley next week, who is in one of the most important early primary states, and is a popular conservative.
Bachmann will also meet with South Carolina state treasurer Curtis Loftis and state Sen. Tom Davis.
More from CNN:
Bachmann will be in South Carolina, a key early primary state, beginning Friday for a series of political events, including a fundraiser and two rallies in the Hilton Head area.
The closed-door chat with Haley will happen on Monday, just before the two Republicans take the stage at a Tax Day Tea Party rally on the steps of the South Carolina state house, GOP sources told CNN.
