Police in Columbia, S.C., have arrested a South Carolina lawmaker and candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for driving under the
influence and carrying an illegal weapon. The State reports:
Rep. Ted Vick, D-Chesterfield, is currently at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing on the charges, which also includes speeding.

According to the station, police officials say that Vick was “stopped on Devine Street and refused a breathalyzer test.” They say he had been hanging out at Delaney’s Pub – a popular hangout in the Five Points area of downtown Columbia, S.C. – just prior to his arrest.
