Rep. Rangel Awaits Charges following Public Meeting
The nature of the allegations against Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) will be publicly revealed when the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct holds a preliminary public hearing today.
The Adjudicatory Subcommittee panel, divided equally between Republicans and Democrats, will weigh the evidence and agree on the facts of the case in advance of a full committee trial to be held in the next few weeks.
Last week, the Congressman spoke to the press to convey his appreciation that the committee finished its investigation.
Rangel stepped down in March from his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee after his ethics were criticized in a different case.via C-SPAN | Capitol Hill, The White House and National Politics.
