Washington Goes Hollywood: Nerd Prom Weekend Viewer’s Guide – The Note

Check out ABC News’ Rick Klein this week end:  Here is his report on the White House Corespondents Dinner know to us Politicos as the “NerdProm”

It’s Washington annual “nerd prom” – the events surrounding the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

This year’s dinner – with President Obama and “Saturday Night Live’s” Seth Meyers providing the entertainment – is tomorrow night. But that’s only the beginning of what’s become a days-long extravaganza in Washington, the one time a year the nation’s capital becomes the hottest spot for Hollywood celebrities to mingle with the politically powerful.

We checked in with Patrick Gavin of Politico’s CLICK Website today to talk about it all on ABC’s “Top Line” today. Gavin professed to hate the weekend because it’s akin to having to eat pizza when you’ve worked in a pizza parlor all day.

“Journalists love meeting celebrities, and politicos like meeting celebrities. And celebrities, believe it or not, find it neat that they met Henry Kissinger,” Gavin told us.

We’ll be tracking all the action on the red carpet tomorrow night. Amy Walter and I will be interviewing the famous and famous-for-Washington as they arrive at the dinner.

We’ll be streaming live starting at 6:30 pm ET at the ABCNews.com homepage. Who do you want to hear from?
