Man in Custody After Jumping White House Fence

The White House was on lock down following a security breach.  An ABC Journalist was starting a Live shot when the breach occurred.

A man was quickly taken into custody after jumping the White House fence Tuesday evening, CNN reported.A backpack also was thrown onto the White House lawn.It’s unknown what the man’s intent may have been.

ABC NEWS: White House on lockdown after security breach 

 Officials have taken a man into custody after a security breach at the White House.

ABC News is reporting the White House is on lockdown Tuesday evening while officials await the arrival of the bomb squad. A backpack remains on the White House grounds.

The suspect is only described as an African American man wearing a dark shirt and white cargo shorts.

Man detained after jumping White House fence –

The incident was broadcast live on CNN’s “John King USA” program, which was produced from the North Lawn of the White House on Tuesday night.

After the man came over the fence, the armed officers ordered him to lie down and then handcuffed him before taking him into custody. A backpack thrown over the fence and lying on the ground nearby was being checked by security officers, who locked down the area as a precaution.
