Texas Governor Perry to announce Presidential Bid Saturday in South Carolina

Gov. Rick Perry will announce he’s running for president Saturday in South Carolina.

Perry, who has been meeting with advisers and potential fundraisers all summer about his possible bid, will shake up a field that has left many Republicans feeling flat.

Perry’s speech to the RedState conservative bloggers conference had long been planned.

After his South Carolina appearance, he’ll head to the other early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire.
