Pelosi threatens to release thousands of pages of Dirt on Gingrich

Although Former Speaker Pelosi Denies this, she offered to give Gingrich and early Christmas gift by releasing information from behind closed door meetings.  Gingrich called her threat “capriciously political” and a “tainted political ethics operation” because she ignored ethics issues in her own party while going after Republicans.

Pelosi stated that she wasn’t going to release anything that wasn’t already in the “Public Domain” like  This report on Newt Gingrich .  Problem is, that report is 1270 pages not thousands.

So what does Pelosi mean, she is going to re-release information?  What like a K-Tel Christmas Album?  We already know all those songs.  Odd.

Speaker Spat

White House hopeful Newt Gingrich welcomed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s threat to unearth information from an ethics investigation from when the Republican presidential candidate was serving in Congress.

Pelosi was part of the ethics investigative subcommittee that evaluated the charges against the Republican presidential candidate when he was House Speaker in the late 90s.

Gingrich declared the committee “capriciously political” and a “tainted political ethics operation” because Pelosi, a lightning rod among conservatives, was involved. He said it would be an “early Christmas gift” from Pelosi if she revealed classified information from the committee’s report.

“Well if she’s suggesting she’s going to use material that she developed while she was on the ethics committee, that is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House and I would hope that members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it,” said Gingrich. “I think it tells you how capriciously political that committee was that she was on it. It tells you how tainted the outcome was that she was on it.”

Pelosi says she has thousands of pages of Dirt on Gingrich

“I like Barney Frank’s quote the best, where he said ‘I never thought I’d live such a good life that I would see Newt Gingrich be the nominee of the Republican party,’” Pelosi said in an exclusive interview Friday. “That quote I think spoke for a lot of us.”

Pelosi didn’t go into detail about Gingrich’s past transgressions, but she tipped her hand. “One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi said. “I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

Pressed for more detail she wouldn’t go further.

“Not right here,” Pelosi joked. “When the time’s right.”
