Is Google psychic? Google Maps posts Maine Election results a day early

If you have noticed Google has started posting Election results in their Google maps with data from the Associated Press.  Politisite posts the data as they are released from the State election commissions.  We would get between 35-100 thousand hits to our results before Google began capitalizing on data.  But what happened here?  Google has posted results for the Maine Caucuses before they even happened.  That’s right, either they are setting up a place holder (which is unethical in our opinion) or they made a major blunder.  We got a screen shot before it was removed.  According to Google maps, with 100% reporting Romney won by 45.7%.

Since folks over at Google think they are Psychic, let me help out a bit.  We think Ron Paul will win.

What is going on with Google Maps and the Maine elections? Why were maps with Maine’s Republican Caucus results posted a day early? When I first learned Google had a map of the results from the Maine elections I had to go see it for myself. I first saw it on Facebook. Google later cleared the map.
