Obama will not be spreading the wealth around! no campaign cash for congressional Democrats

It appears that President Obama is not about to “spread the wealth around” to re-election seeking Democrats.  Guess the cash is not rolling in or Obama is fearful he will need every dollar to defeat the Republican nominee following his dismal record.

President Obama’s re-election campaign has told Democratic congressional counterparts it will not be transferring money to them before the November elections.

“Our top priority and focus is to secure the electoral votes necessary to re-elect the president,” said a statement from Obama campaign manager Jim Messina.

“There’s no doubt that Democratic campaigns face a challenging new political landscape with special interests giving unlimited amounts to super PACs,” Messina said. “We’re committed to doing everything we can to elect a Democratic House and Senate, and we’re having a conversation about the best way to achieve that goal.”

Campaign officials noted that Obama, Vice President Biden, and Cabinet officials will be doing events and soliciting money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

“The organization and turnout operation we’re building on the ground in states across the country is unparalleled,” Messina said. “And it will help to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.”
