Gabby Giffords’s Husband Mark Kelly Buys AR-15 “Assault Weapon” for “Show and Tell”

File this under,  “the Laws are for thee and not for Me”.  Gun Control advocate bought the very weapon he is campaigning to have banned from the American Public.  We applaud him for wanting to protect his family with some of the best weaponry available on the Market.  The problem is, once he found out that these things can become public, he denied they were for personal use.  He stated that these weapons were for,  “show and tell” meaning he would use the guns as props when explaining their use.

I am sure that Kelly is well aware that there are dummy guns to use for such educational purposes.

mark-kelly-gun-storeMark E. Kelly, gun-control proponent and husband to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, recently purchased an AR-15 (an “assault weapon,” he called it)—which he now says he intended as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws.

Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at a gun store in Tucson, Arizona.

Breitbart News received a tip on this when Neil McCabe, editor of Guns & Patriots newsletter, contacted us on March 7 and said:

Mark E. Kelly, made purchases which included an AR-15–sometimes described as an “assault rifle”–at 3:30 pm on the afternoon of March 5 at Diamondback Police Supply, 170 S. Kolb Street, Tucson, AZ.

So once Kelly was caught, what was his explanation? I just wanted to show how easy it was to buy an assault weapon –

“I just had a background check a few days ago when I went to my local gun store to buy a 45. As I was leaving, I noticed a used AR-15. Bought that too. Even to buy an assault weapon, the background check only takes a matter of minutes,” he continued.

Later, on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” Kelly said it was “important for me to have firsthand knowledge about how easy it is or difficult it is to buy a weapon like that.”

We have a bit of news for Mark Kelly, you don’t actually have to BUY a weapon to go through the background check process to find out if you qualify.  But I am sure CNN and the MSM bought his excuse.

Like we said, good for him to buy such weaponry to protect his family, but he is a Wuss for lying about it.

He said he bought it to show how the background check wasn’t
burdensome. But suppose the background check computer was down that day? They
go down a lot, often on gun show weekends. The latest case: November’s
    “Black Friday” sales promo.

Now imagine that the liberals’ dream has come true (since
1968)  and you have to get the
government’s OK to buy a gun – the “universal” (not) background check
is in effect. All a future fuhrer (he may be here now) has to do is declare a National
Emergency, real or bogus, and shuts down the computers for “public
    safety” as Los Angeles did
during their riots. Viola! An instant gun ban for those who need one NOW.
It won’t stop the criminals though. They will use that Emergency to prey on
those gullible people who thought the authorities would protect them.

Notice too, that when a citizen buys this semi-automatic
version, it is an “assault rifle”, but when the government (Homeland
Defense) buys 6,000 fully-automatic versions, they are “Personal Defense
    Weapons”.  Indeed, some are more
    equal than others.
