Possible 2016 Presidential contender Ted Cruz to headline S.C. GOP’s Silver Elephant dinner

By Albert N. Milliron

Already being eyed by some Republicans as a potential 2016 presidential contender, Texas Senator Ted Cruz will be in the Palmetto state on the same day that Vice-President Joe Biden will be hosting the Democrats main event on May 3rd, 2013.  Cruz is reportedly going to be the keynote ted_cruzspeaker at the Republicans Silver Elephant Dinner in Columbia.

Columbia is a major testing state for potential GOP candidates for the presidency as South Carolina is the first in the south primary in 2016.

The capital city will be the center of the 2016 presidential universe on May 3. With South Carolina Democrats already landing possible presidential contender Vice President Joe Biden for the party’s May 3 fundraising dinner, a source close to the state GOP confirmed this morning that new U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will headline the Republicans’ Silver Elephant dinner on the same night.

Both events start at 7 p.m.
