Dumb Congresswoman: Magazines clips, these are ammunition, they’re bullets

Add Congresswoman DeGette to your list of Dumb Democratic Congresswomen.  She believes that Magazines should be banned because once they are all shot, they will be gone for ever.  Huh?  Well,  let’s let the Congresswoman explain:

deGette“What’s the efficacy of banning these magazine clips? I will tell you, these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them” says Rep DeGette. According to her, “the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will be shot and there won’t be any more available.”

Yes, she said that!  Her statement is right up there with other Dumb Democratic Congresswomen statements:

  • Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee who wanted the Mars Rover to take a photo of the Flag the Apollo Astronauts planted on the moon.  and then was her, “there are two Vietnams North and South”
  • Nancy Pelosi on the economy said, “every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs” or on Health Care bill, “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
  • California Senator Barbara Boxer said  “Those who survived the San Francisco earthquake said, ‘Thank God, I’m still alive.’ But, of course, those who died, their lives will never be the same again.”
  • Congresswoman Maxine Waters on socialism: “Guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal will be about socializing…uh, um…Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies.”

Revealing politics had this to say:

A public meeting of the Denver Post Editorial Board exposed the deep ignorance of Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO), the prime Co-Sponsor of a federal bill to ban “high” capacity magazines, on the very issue she’s attempting to legislate. During the meeting Rep. DeGette offered some comments about her bill:

(29:13) . . . I’m the Prime House Co-Sponsor on the ban on the high capacity magazines and I believe that as this bill works through it has an excellent chance of passing. Like the background checks, the magazine ban has a very solid national support around the country and it only makes sense. For most purposes having these, these magazine clips that have, that have more than 15 rounds in them, there’s really no purpose for those except for shooting targets or shooting people.”
