Update: Firefighters freed, gunman killed as cops raid Georgia home to end hostage standoff
A gunman who took firefighters hostage in a Georgia housing subdivision Wednesday was killed when authorities stormed the home, freeing the four firefighters inside.

Several Channel 2 Action News crews are in Suwanee where a barricaded gunman just released one of five Gwinnett firefighters being held hostage at a foreclosed home.
Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh arrived at the scene shortly after 5 p.m. She said several Gwinnett County SWAT officers are at 2440 Walnut Grove Way near Collins Hill and Taylor roads. The neighborhood is across from Walnut Grove Elementary School off Interstate 85.
A SWAT unit has responded to the scene in the 2400 block of Walnut Grove Way in Suwanee around 3:40 p.m.
The fire department apparently went to the scene for a medical call, police said.
The man who called 911 faked a heart attack, Channel 2 Action News reported.
5:50 P.M.- Authorities held a news conference. The gunman let one firefighter go. There are now 4 firefighters inside the home.
5:40 P.M. – Police are trying to determine what the man’s motive is.
5:39 p.m. – Police have the road blocked off at Walnut Grove Way and Taylor Road.
