Boston Bombers planned NYC attack

The brothers accused of setting off bombs at the Boston marathon were planning to carry out explosions in New York City, said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

times-squareAfter the carjacking outside of Boston, brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, intended to drive to Times Square to detonate a bomb.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and Mayor Michael Bloomberg said they learned of the plot form the FBI on Thursday.

The suspects had a pressure cooker bomb and five pipe bombs with them when they were headed to Times Square.

“We have no specific information about the targeting. The initial information was they were coming to party, then the intent to target,” said Kelly.
