Mark Sanford Wins

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) has won the race for the state’s 1st District congressional seat, CNN and the Associated Press reported.

sanford_winsSanford, who served as governor of the Palmetto State from 2003 to 2011, defeated businesswoman Elizabeth Colbert Busch (D). Sanford had said Tuesday that if he did not win, he would not run for office again, the Associated Press reported.
