AG Holder Personally signed off on FNC Rosen warrant, Lied to Congress

NBC news is reporting that Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on the warrant that caused the investigation of Fox News reporter James Rosen personal emails.

obama-holderA law enforcement official told Isikoff that Holder’s approval came “after senior Justice officials concluded there was ‘probable cause’ that Rosen’s communications with his source, identified as intelligence analyst Stephen Kim, met the legal burden for such searches.” The Justice Dept. had described Rosen as either “an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator” of Kim’s — language that drew outrage from Fox News and leading media organizations.

NBC is not reporting it’s own story on News Outlets

On Thursday’s Nightly News, White House correspondent Peter Alexander passed up the perfect opportunity to mention the breaking news as he wrapped up a report on President Obama’s afternoon national security speech: “Also today, on the topic of national security leaks, the President said that he’s asked Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review…of the Justice Department’s guidelines for investigations that involve journalists.”

Given the revelation from Isikoff, that would mean that Holder has been put in charge of reviewing misconduct that he himself approved.

Friday’s NBC Today didn’t even mention the press crackdown scandals plaguing the administration.

Holder told Congress that targeting Journalists was bad policy and would not be involved in such and action

This is what Holder told Congress:

“First of all you’ve got a long way to go to try to prosecute the press for publication of material. This has not fared well in American history… In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.
