Egyptian Military to Oust Morsi – Muslim Brotherhood complains of coup

Egyptian state media says the country is set for a “short transition followed by presidential and parliamentary elections”, as the Muslim Brotherhood complains a military coup is taking place.

Egypt political crisisState media agency MENA said the army led plan would see President Mohammed Morsi step down, a period of transitional rule, and then new parliamentary and presidential elections.

The announcement comes as the military sets the stage to officially announce the future of President Morsi, one year after his inauguration.

Across the country the military has been deployed to pro-Morsi rallies, media organizations have been “secured”, and barbed wire barriers have been set up around the Republican Guard Barracks, where Morsi is located.
