The Christmas Blues

Christmas Blues Song

So it’s Christmas Baby how are you?
Forgive me but I’m feeling blue
This should be a good time with hope and cheer
Why don’t I feel this way if you’re not near?

There’s eggnog and mistletoe Baby where are you?
Do you feel this way on Christmas too?
So this is Christmas when we should be glad
These were the best times I ever had,

But now I’m lonely on this Christmas Baby
Over what could have been and what could be
This is Christmas Baby why can’t we feel free?
But there are no presents under the tree,

Doesn’t seem to have been any spirit for the last year
Still it’s Christmas when we put aside our fears
It’s Christmas Baby then why all these tears?
Sorry Baby maybe I’m not thinking very clear,

Have to remember this is Christmas Honey
When all the children go to sleep but just barely
When their prayers should be answered that morning
When the faithful gather in choirs and sing,

So what happened to us Baby on this Christmas Day?
Where are you now and what should I say?
Remember it’s Christmas Baby a time to share
But oh my Baby did you ever really care?

Christmas should be a time of joy, but for some of us the past rests heavily on our minds in the midst of the holiday season. Have a Merry Christmas!
