Statement from Sen. Fred Thompson
McLean, VA – Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:
“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United
States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our
having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the
encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”Source: fred08.com via politisite
Is Fred Thompson Dropping out following South Carolina Loss
Based upon Senator Thompson speech in South Carolina moments ago,
it appears that he is dropping out of the presidential race. He
is going through his thank yous from not only his South Carolina
staff but his national staff as well. We are anticipating him
to drop out here. Senator Thompson received 13% of the vote with 13%
reporting. Thompson did not state his concession or drop out when his
speech ended. This is somewhat confusing from our perspective.
Thompson stated earlier that South Carolina was a must win for him.

!!!!!
Wrong.
I hope its wrong,, I haven’t heard or read anything…
he will be making the announcement within the next day or so. According to someone close to the campaign. Please go back and see my hunter drops out, 2 days prior to his announcement. Same for Biden and Dodd.
Sorry to all of the thompson supporters but he has dropped his presidential bid today. To the Naysayers on the blogs. Keep in mind that information travels faster than light although we talk very slowly. I chatted with Senator Thompson in Myrtle beach. It was clear South Carolina was a must win.
