Haley poised to win South Carolina Governor Race, DeMint solid win

In an environment where Republicans seem to be favored over Democrats nationally, the same appears to hold in South Carolina, Republican Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley has gained over Democrat Vincent Sheheen for 49 to 35 percent in the previous poll to 52 to 36 percent in the latest poll performed by Rasmussen Reports. The spread has increased as well from 14 to 16 percentage points.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley says a President Obama visit to South Carolina would likely hurt her opponent, Democrat Vincent Sheheen. Haley, in an appearance Wednesday night with with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, said South Carolinians have rejected the President’s stimulus package and his health care reform package. “I don’t think my opponent wants the president to come,” Haley said. SC State Senator Jake Knotts Calls Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley a RagHead

Just one day after Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley was accused of having a one night stand with another campaigns political operative, South Carolina politics if the state that keeps on giving to late night comedic talk shows.
Today, during a local Podcast called PubPolitics, State Senator Jake Knotts appeared on the program unannounced and went into a racial tirade. Knotts said (paraphrasing here) that we have one RagHead in the White House and didn’t need a Raghead (referring to Haley who is Indian American) in the State House.
