Republicans take Hawaii House seat for first time in 20 years

For the first time in some twenty years a Republican has taken a Hawaii congressional seat.  The special election was held Saturday to replace retiring Congressman Neil Abercrombie.  Charles Djou won with nearly forty percent of the vote, with his closest competitor Colleen Hanabusa who had with 31 percent.
