Dawn Johnsen Justice Nominee Withdraws Amid Fierce Opposition

President Obama’s choice to head up the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel has withdrawn from consideration after continued opposition from Senate Republicans. While qualified, Republicans were concerned about statements Johnsen made about National security issues and Abortion.
Some are saying that Republican’s are retaliating by blocking the Presidents picks due to Health Care passage. Democrats relate that the constitution says that their role is to, ‘advise and consent’ not Block nominees for political reasons.
