From the New York Times: Even though Mr. Mubarak has balked, so far, at leaving now, officials from both governments are continuing talks about a plan in which, Mr. Suleiman, backed by Sami Enan, chief of […]
From The BAZ File: For the Obama administration catching up with the uprising in Egypt is like chasing a runaway locomotive on a bicycle. From its initial public support for doomed Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak to its need to appear to be hands-off, the White House is saddled with an event it fears will end in a train wreck. President Obama had a chance tonight to outright derail criticism that […]
(Politisite)–While the United States hit the Sunday news shows blasting the large document from of the website Wikileaks and calling for the site to be shut down and the founder Julian Assange to be prosecuted for espionage, one question seems to have gone unanswered. How did this site come to obtain hundreds of thousands of documents and cables that are supposedly secret and in the possession of some of our top security agencies?
How can a citizen of another country gain access to potentially damaging information? One answer stands out to this writer. Our intelligence agencies do not handle sensitive information appropriately.
The political spin Media spin, regurgitated by the Mainstream media is that this man and website are to blame for the sensitive information getting out for the U.S.citizens, our Allies and Enemies to read.
Last week, after both Barack Obama and new British PM David Cameron publicly criticized the release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi eleven months ago, the Scottish government challenged the US to open its files on the case of the Lockerbie bomber. The Australian reports that the Times of London has discovered why Scotland seemed so keen on transparency. The deputy US ambassador to London gave a green light to Megrahi’s release, […]

If nothing else, the state of Arizona has smoked out the Obama administration. To make the case that the Arizona immigration law conflicts with, and therefore is preempted by, federal law, the Justice Department has to make an extraordinary claim — that the federal laws as written don’t matter so much. The drafters of the Arizona statute, S.B. 1070, were careful to mimic specific federal laws, but that’s not good […]
Soon after his confirmation, Attorney General Eric Holder labeled us a nation of cowards, a people supposedly unwilling or afraid to discuss race. Based on my experience as an attorney at the Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department, Holder has far more to fear from that discussion than do the rest of us.
“Chances dim for swift 9/11 decision,” reports Politico. Attorney General Eric Holder said the decision over where to hold the trial for alleged 9/11 plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was “weeks away” — three months ago. Now advocates on both sides of the issue say they expect the Obama administration to punt the decision until after the November midterm elections— when the controversial plan could do less damage to the political […]
The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan. Apparently, Barack Obama’s pal George Soros has invested heavily in Petrobas. […]
What do we bet SEIU will not be in front of the White House protesting these bonuses? The biggest winners were air traffic controllers and top managers in Washington, a review of fiscal year 2009 salary reports from the […]
